Sparsia ("we," "us," or "our") operates Sparsia, an AI-powered life decision engine. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using Sparsia, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication credentials
  • Subscription and billing data processed through Stripe
  • Decision queries and verdict history
  • Preference memory data (learned priorities)
  • Collections and saved decisions

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, commands executed
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Session data: login timestamps, session duration

  • Processing subscriptions and payments

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of service providers who help us operate the platform:

  • Infrastructure: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), AWS (storage and queuing)
  • Payments: Stripe (subscription billing)
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (usage metrics, anonymized)
  • AI Providers: Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (GPT) for decision research and synthesis (queries sent, no user PII shared)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

5. Data Storage and Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. Data is stored on infrastructure provided by Neon (PostgreSQL) and AWS, with hosting by Vercel.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

We anonymize and aggregate decision data for community trending features. No personal information is included in trending data. Aggregated trending data is retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

Sparsia is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
